Scholarly career support
The HPE Entrust Foundation believes that strengthening health professions education begins with investing in people. By supporting educators in their professional and academic development, the Foundation aims to build sustainable local expertise and educational leadership, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through scholarships, mentoring and international educational opportunities, the Foundation seeks to help educators expand their knowledge, strengthen their leadership skills and contribute to the development of health professions education within their own institutions and regions.
In collaboration with the University of Edinburgh, the HPE Entrust Foundation will support one or more partial scholarships for the online Master of Clinical Education program. The scholarships are intended for educators from low- and lower-middle income countries who demonstrate the potential to make a lasting contribution to health professions education within their own institutions and communities.
The Foundation and the University of Edinburgh will jointly contribute to the tuition fees, making this internationally recognized degree program accessible to talented educators who might otherwise not have the opportunity to participate.
Recipients will be selected through a transparent application procedure based on predefined criteria, including:
- Demonstrated commitment to health professions education
- Leadership potential
- Expected impact within their local institution or region
- Motivation and future educational plans
Scholarship recipients will be encouraged to undertake educational projects that contribute directly to strengthening health professions education in their local context.

Information about available scholarships, eligibility criteria, timelines and the application procedure will be published here. Applications for the first scholarships are expected to open early 2027.
