Driven by a commitment to equity and excellence, the HPE Entrust Foundation empowers global educators to transform health professions education through sustainable, competency-based training. By prioritizing collaboration and local capacity building, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, the Foundation strengthens healthcare systems to ensure better patient care worldwide.
Mission
The HPE Entrust Foundation advances high-quality, competency-based health professions education worldwide, with particular attention to low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
We support educators, researchers and institutions in developing, implementing and continuously improving educational programmes that prepare healthcare professionals for safe, effective and compassionate practice. By strengthening health professions education, we aim to contribute to better patient care and stronger healthcare systems.
Where appropriate, we promote the use of internationally recognised educational approaches, including Entrustable Professional Activities (EPAs) and entrustment decision-making, as practical tools to enhance educational quality and support the development of competent healthcare professionals.

By bringing together educators, faculty members and researchers across institutions, disciplines and countries, the Foundation promotes knowledge exchange, educational innovation and the co-creation of sustainable solutions. We are committed to equitable international partnerships in which expertise is shared in both directions and local needs, priorities and contexts guide our work.
We believe that international collaboration not only strengthens the quality of health professions education, but also fosters lasting professional relationships, mutual understanding and a global community dedicated to improving healthcare through education.
